how do i download pak files from purchased game??

Sorry, i know this is stupid...i know NOTHING about this stuff and i have been searching for more than an hour. I purchased all the quake games on steam and i need to download >>THE FILES<< on my macbook so i can get just the pak files and put them individually on my oculus quest. (I think once i have the files on my mac i can put them on my oculus quest ok.) The problem is, it seems like there is only the option to INSTALL, and then when I click "install", sometimes it says I can't do that because I have a mac, and then other times the install button is just grey, indicating this is not an option. I don't want to install anyway - I dont want to play this on my mac - I just want to download the files. Can someone PLEASE direct me to a tutorial or something??

thanks very much but i dont understand any of this. i found something on my macbook called terminal - is that what this refers to? i opened it up and copied/pasted those two lines into this terminal and then nothing happened :0(

thanks again for the help. yeah it took me a long time to understand how to do that. it's like you're telling an alien who just arrived on earth to go to the 7-11 and get a coke, and the alien is like dude wtf is a coke and a wtf is a 7-11. :0( now i am stuck because i tried to login and then a key symbol pops up like im supposed to type in my password, but at this point the screen keeps acting like it's locked up and will not let me type in anything, let alone a password. it was also suggested that i login anonymously but i dont think i should do that cuz obviously i bought these games and they are in my account library so i need to download them from my account library and i would need to be logged in to do that :0(

p.s. btw i did type in my password even thought letters were not showing on the screen, and i hit enter and it just said invalid password. i know i was typing in the right password and i did this several times :0P :0(
