Max Resolution 1440p for some Steam games on MacBook Retina
I tried searching around and couldn't find anything on this. I'm using Steam on a MacBook 15" Retina and some games only let me select up to 1440x900 for max resolution. Stranded Deep is one example. I believe Half-Life 2 is another. Is this an easy fix? Couldn't find any settings to change.

Might it be, that these games use the current desktop resolution as the possible maximum?

Not sure that's the issue. I think the resolution is set to 2800 something

The native resolution is 2880x1800, but the default desktop resolution is 1440x900. Some games support the native resolution and some max to the desktop resolution. So far I didn't test, if enlarging the desktop will have an effect on the max gaming resolution. Fact is, the native resolution is the absolute limit, that many games support.
