Steam or App Store?

Is there a difference if I buy a game in the App Store?
Because 4 exp. "The Witcher 2" dosnt run very good on my Macbook pro with Steam,
but it is avaiable on the App Store... so is this version addoped 4 the Macbook and will run better?
Or are this the same version and its the Macbook that has the issuse?
In Short... are the games allways the same version if i buy in Steam or AppStore or not?

If you already own it on Steam you should be able to redeem a copy of it on GOG.com. It'll be DRM Free and GOG is run by CDProjekt the actual developers. It probably won't run much better. It's just a demanding game.
