Metro Exodus crashes on startup (M1 Max 64Gb, OS 12.1)

Fresh install, 3seconds after starting Metro exodus, screen flashes an Crash report arises. Any suggestions?

The same. I was able to play once after trying a fix but then it never started, always crashed

I've had the same and tbh I was extremely disappointed. I don't know if this will work but it's worth trying.

go to ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Metro Exodus where the game is installed, right click on the game, get Info, and check the box for "scale to fit below built-in camera"

After doing this it stopped crashing at startup.

None of these solutions worked for me. I was trying to run the game with a monitor connected and even after I checked the "scale to fit" checkbox, it crashed after a couple of seconds. What did help was disconnecting the monitor or closing the mac's screen so only one screen is working - this fixed the crash.

i know that my mac is terrible, but i've been trying to play the game for ages on an mid 2014 retina pro but it keeps crashing, i tried to find the scale to fit option but there's none for me

Hi all, i tried everything now and it still crashes when try to launch. I rename the intro files, and the solution that works for all of you regarding "scale to fit" checkbox, is not an option on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) Running monterey 12.6. Can anyone please help? I feel i tried everything and now i'm not ready to give up yet :-)
