Is there a way to use the official GameCube adapter for Mac on Steam?
I want to use my GameCube controller for computer games. I already have the official adapter, so if there's a way to get that working on Steam it would be more convenient than buying a new adapter. I know people have got it working on Windows, haven't seen anything for Mac.

Thanks!

Should help (quote):

Connecting the GameCube Controller to the Mac

Connecting the controller to the Apple desktop requires one critical piece of equipment: a USB adapter. Common adapters used for linking the GameCube controller with a Mac include the Mayflash 4-port controller adapter and the 3-in1 Magic Joy Box, in addition to several others. Establishing a connection simply involves plugging the controller into the adapter's corresponding port, then plugging the adapter into the Mac's USB outlet. This is the simple part. Next, the controller must be configured in the emulator before the system can be used for play.

Configuring the GameCube Controller on the Mac

Once connected, open up the emulator being used for the Mac and go to the GameCube pad settings. Set the device being used to the GameCube controller (typically the USB joystick or related title in the emulator). Next, the controller must be calibrated so that the game responds accurately to the buttons being hit. Assign the appropriate functions for each button (A, B, X, Y, Z, etc), as well as main stick (up, down, right, left, etc), C-stick, trigger, and D-pad controls. Once all buttons are assigned the desired functions, gamers can start playing Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, or any other preferred GameCube game.

I already own the official GC Adapter from Nintendo, so if it's possible to use that instead of the Mayflash adapter, that would be super helpful.

I know people have gotten it to work for PC, and Dolphin has it running perfectly on all platforms, but I haven't been able to find any way to get it working on Mac for Steam...

There's this:

but I can't get it to work and the discussion's so old that nobody's been replying.

Thank you, though, and if I have to get the Mayflash adapter I will.

I have mayflash adaptor and oem game cube controller on mac. Dolphin works with GC driver but no luck with steam. Boot camp steam also doesn’t work sadly, though windows does recognize it as a USB. Zadig didn’t work.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
