steam won't open (OS X El Capitan 10.11.2)

So after the last update to OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 the steam application just won't work. I tried re-installing steam several times, using steam://flashconfig, restarting my computer.. nothing works.
When I try to open steam, the app icon will pop up in the dock but after a while it just disappears and steam just won't start...
After that I get no notification whatsoever, no reports, nothing.

Anyone got any suggestions please? This is driving me crazy >.<

Me too! I was in the middle of downloading the escapists when the big crash happened christmas day. Now it wont open.. It just jumps on the screen and does nothing.. Iv done everything any thread on the internet told me to do.. It just doesn't work... I sent an email to steam 3days ago.. Their annoyingly ignoring me...

Reply if you know the real answer? This is annoying me to death O_o

I will.. but since no one really seems to know any solution to this, we won't be able to start up steam anytime soon :(..
It's annoying me too.. I finally had some time to game and then this.. oh well :P

I am surprised for your problems with OSX El Capitan 10.11.2. I am using it in late 2012 iMac and Steam works just fine. The game - COH 2 - crashes sometimes unexpectedly, but nothing else.
One thing comes in my mind: have you properly uninstalled the Steam before reinstalling it? There is a tiny possibility it might help...
One other thing that might help - or not - I have updated my NVidia drivers...

If by properly uninstalled you mean removing the steam folder from the library -> application support.. yeah, no steam folder there. Which is strange because I still have steam on my computer..
As for the drivers I'll give that a try.

So.. I did everything suggestet so far and nothing worked.
If anybody got any more suggestions, I'd be happy to read them.. It just sucks not being able to use steam..

Not working on my end either... Steam support.. you suck xD would it kill you to add a phone number?? Anywhere??

I just sent an email too.. I suppose I'll have to wait quite a bit for an answer, won't I.. :P If at least there was a way to play your games without steam..

I got steam running again.. But I had to reinstall my laptop.
If everything else fails or steam doesn't answer your e-mails try the same. Back up the files you want to keep from your computer and then do a clean reinstall.
