Why Gaming on a Mac is a Frustrating Experience

Gaming on a Mac can be incredibly frustrating due to a number of factors. Firstly, the hardware limitations are a major setback. Most Macs are designed with productivity and aesthetics in mind rather than high-performance gaming, leading to weaker graphics cards and limited customization options compared to PCs. Additionally, the game library on macOS is quite limited; many popular and recent titles either don't get released for Mac or arrive much later than their PC counterparts. This is exacerbated by poor optimization for the games that do exist, often resulting in subpar performance and graphical fidelity. Furthermore, the lack of support for many gaming peripherals and modding tools makes it difficult to fully immerse in the gaming experience. All these reasons combined make gaming on a Mac a less-than-ideal choice for anyone serious about their games.

Apple has done literally the opposite of what has been needed to get their platform to be gaming friendly. They've chosen to ignore vulkan (and no to those people claiming metal is older that literally means nothing, its not one or the other), they have made it to where you can't maintenance or upgrade ANYTHING on Macs anymore, and there is no reasonable priced Mac. Period.

Starting at $1000 you get low amounts of RAM (which is shared with the GPU making those amounts worse), low storage that can't be upgraded, and GPUs that can't play ANY modern games at the devices native resolution.

Its actually shocking when I see people surprised that the Mac gaming scene kinda sucks.

Maybe people should pressure Apple into working to kill DX by supporting Vulkan and making it easier for games to be platform agnostic rather than forcing devs to make concessions for each platform. Especially since Mac gaming is the lowest pool of gamers (no, its not BSD, they don't even have enough to be on the chart).
