Can't take steam screenshots on a mac.

I can't take a steam screenshot on my mac no matter what I do.

Using the Fn key to get the F12 key to show on the touch pad doesn't result in a screenshot.

I saw the suggestion of ( Go to Apple icon->System Preferences->Keyboard. There should be a checkbox labeled "Use all F1, F2, etc keys as standard function keys". )

The checkbox wasn't there.

I went to steam preferences and tried changing the key to perform a screenshot, didn't work.

What else is there I could do and why hasn't steam fixed this decade+ old issue?

Steam also doesn't let you upload normal images.

Command/shift/3 takes the entire screen
OR
Command/shift/4 you can select what to grab.

Forget about the F keys. They can go wanky for no reason. Thanks apple.
