Mac OS Sonoma Incompatible?

I am on a brand new computer with Mac OS Sonoma, whenever I close Steam I have to force quit it, and whenever I try to open my game Civ VI it tells me that the file is damaged and has to be moved to the trash. I have tried un-installing/re-installing both Steam and Civ VI many times as well as trying to take Civ VI out of quarantine via the terminal. None of which seem to have helped. When I tried contacting Steam Support it says "There was an error uploading your system information." and won't send my request through. I have a feeling this is a Sonoma compatibility issue but wanted to check in to see if anyone know of anything I can fix on my end.

I downloaded Civ VI today for my Mac and the same thing happened to me. When I tried to play the game it attempts to "Verify" and then gives me a message that the Civ file is damaged and has to be moved to the trash. I have downloaded the game 4 times and each time I get this error message. Can anyone help?

I'm also having this same issue with Civ 6. Please due let me know if anything works. I wanna play it again but I'm getting literally the exact same errors and issues you all are having.

Update: I tried using CrossOver and Civ VI still won't work. Possibly the M3 chip is the issue?

I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with Sonoma. It looks like the codesigning for Civ VI is busted, so macOS thinks that it's been tampered with (possibly maliciously) and is refusing to run it.

It might be a red herring, but it looks like the problem is that they signed the DLC content along with the base game, so if you're missing DLC, it won't work. This is definitely something to report to Firaxis / Aspyr.

I'm testing it now by buying all the DLC...

EDIT: Yup. Sending the damaged app to the trash, buying all the DLC, and verifying the game in Steam to reinstall it works. Aspyr screwed up the code signing.
