Workaround is to use Wine, Crossover, to launch Windows version of the Steam.
Even Mac OS 10.13 and 10.14 are going to be unsupported soon:

Mac OS 10.11 and 10.12 are already unsupported:

Considering that Apple stopped supporting Mac OS 10.6 almost 10 years ago, it is a good idea to no longer use it.

indeed, it is a very good idea to drive a 2023 Audi RS 7 rather than a 1973 Vauxhall..... if you have enough money to buy one !
Because that’s exactly the problem I've with my old 2010 iMac which is at its max with High Sierra 10.13.6. (I can't even switch to Mojave on which anyway STEAM will not run no more....)
If I had enough money to buy a 24" iMac M3, I wouldn’t wait until 02/15/24 to do it !
With OpenCore Legacy Patcher you can install latest macOS.

Yes, I know OCLP and we were discussing it this evening with my older brother who is 75 years old (!) and has a 2009 iMac. But he's less concerned than me since he doesn't play car racing games and goes so very little on STEAM.
I don't know yet if I'm going to try this option because many players say in their comments that they had many difficulties to connect to STEAM since they've been on Sonoma.
But on a French link on OCLP, a Mac specialist explains that we don't have to go to Sonoma. Older OS like Monterey, Big Sur or even Catalina are also perfect for connecting to STEAM.
My concern is no longer being able to play Online the "Globlal Challenge" every week on GRID 2, but also not being able to play my old 32-bit HOGs which, paradoxically, are hundred times better than the crap that has been coming out for 10 years from "Big Fish Games" !
(There's also "Wire" and "PlayOnMac" to use Windows, I think, but I don't know if these are good options....)
There is a market for used Macs and an M1 say, Mac Mini M1 2020 doesn't break the bank and runs A) safely B) opens up a whole new world of gaming with game porting tool kit.
Those go for about 3-400 euros/dollars and if you can spare till a 1000 you can actually get a a pretty good MB Pro/Air.
And if new hardware is off the table, you can try Cloud Gaming, as this basically runs on anything that can run a browser. Downside of cloud gaming is your limited in choice of what to play.
Thank you both for your help, your kindness and your good advices.
You know, I'm 65 yrs old and I'm far to be a geek, unlike my older brother who worked in advertising for years on Mac since the beginning.
I'll try to play my GRID 2 every night without thinking too much to this f****** red message at the top of my screen and its unbearable countdown, and I'll see after this date what will be the best to do.
Happy New Year to all !
well then I'm s- out of luck , moving backwards instead of forwards like adrian's basement.... setups.
I need to try that open tying to see how my Mac Book is upgraded , I have one C2D newer than the white , metallic , maybe I can run something newer than 10.8 (currently on it). - I never used it because it was 2 new for my taste. Prefer my retro stuff from mid 90s-00s
I also given a iMac 21 from about 09 core2 to my dad , I think it has el capitan or prev version , we never used it , I just got it and gave it for office work , but I think that's also stuck at a limited OS-X version , I don't like this forced de-platforming....
Since 2010 it was ok. Current can launch 32bit Windows games on Mac with only 64bit libs (like Call of Duty 2).
