Xbox Elite Series 2 controller

Hello, Is there a way to get steam to recognize my xbox elite controller? Ive had it connected via bluetooth and wired with steam still saying no controlloer detected. I have forgotten the device and remapped. I have also forgotten all my devices via bluetooth and only remapped the controller. I have uninstalled steam and reinstalled steam and still have the same issue.

I have the same problem. plus when I turn on my Xbox Elite 2 controller steam just freezes for a minute or 2. some games even crash if I disconnect the contoller while ingame.
