It’s no surprise, Valve has never had good Mac support once they got Linux support going. I believe they only used Mac support as a stepping stone to supporting Linux.
Stop feeling attacked. Apple has never made it easy to support them. From doing everything in their power to stop Nvidia cards from being used (lead to the trash can Mac) to making their own API instead of just using Vulkan like a sane company would.
Why fight an uphill battle to support the smallest OS demographic?
Which makes it a lot of hassle to maintain a Mac OS software.

Developing for Mac OS is simply a PITA. And expensive too.
Considering a lot of game devs have dropped Mac OS support in the recent years, i'm not surprised Valve is not exactly enthusiastic.
Ah yes the "ignore the facts and ad hom/deflect" argument. Classic.
Literally another ad hom. This is just a cartoon response at this point.
That and your username being something straight out of the 6th grade makes it apparent that you’re not serious.
Wow, triple ad hom. Its funny you mention facts but there isn't any to support your ad hom rampage.
Valve has almost no reason to make a arm native Mac client. Apple chose to not support Vulkan making game porting and production harder and more expensive and with such hurdles arbitrarily created by Apple theres no incentive to put that kind of work into their games and just about nobody else has Mac native arm games.
So if Valve doesn't have arm games for Mac and nobody else does whats the point of a Mac arm native client?
If the games have to be played through Apple's or a 3rd party compatibility layer then why not the Steam client?
Why would Valve put so much time money and effort into supporting the smallest gaming demographic who blames them for Apples poor choices?
In the February they will release Steam for Mac with new Chrome (and will drop support for 32bit Mojave).
It means, what they will update Xcode to the current version, and remove old deprecations.
Current xcode builds for ARM and Intel platform automaticly.
End of dooming.
About stats - 32% of people uses Macs in US. US still makes the half of sales, comparing to europe/asia.
And when you can’t, think about graduating middle school.
Money isn't the issue here, its insanity thats the issue. Apple wants to make themselves as incompatible as possible and then Apple fanatics blame everyone but Apple.
