Civilisation IV - file corrupted /damaged repeatedly

I encountered today repeatedly the error message, after downloading Civilisation IV on MAC.

The download completed but the game could not start. A message popped up by the MAC OS (not Steam!) the file is damaged and it is suggested to move it into the trash.

I deinstalled CV IV and downloaded/installed it again. But the same thing happened…

Same thing is happening to me. The game is too expensive and too mature for this nonsense.

Yesterday i bought civ 6 for MAC (M1, OS 14.3), but the download is always corrupted and not usable. Anybody there for help?

Basically, Aspyr screwed up and it's been broken for a while, and they don't seem to care that it's broken.
