FPS counter not showing on Sonoma

Anyone else have this issue?

After installing/upgrading to Sonoma, the FPS counter no longer works on Steam games for me (BG3 and Cities Skylines tested so far)

Same here. It started immediately after updating to Sonoma. Verified no Steam FPS overlay in both BG3 and Solasta.

I can confirm that the FPS counter is not working in Steam v.1694466342, macOS Sonoma 14.0.
As a temporary (or permanent if it's your thing) fix, you can enable the macOS built-in performance HUD:

I sent a support request to Steam, and they basically told me that the bug is on my end/my fault and dismissed it. Would appreciate if others also put in support requests/bug reports because clearly they don't believe me lol

How to report a bug? kinda new to steam.

You can use Metal Performance HUD for benchmarking.

In Terminal
Enable HUD: /bin/launchctl setenv MTL_HUD_ENABLED 1
Disable HUD: /bin/launchctl setenv MTL_HUD_ENABLED 0

In Sonoma if the HUD blocks your view, toggle it on/off with SHIFT+F9 (might be SHIFT+FN+F9 on your keyboard), change its alignment with SHIFT+F7, and toggle logging on/off with SHIFT+F8.

Logging saves the info into a file.

The FPS counter is gone for me on MacOS Sonoma, even whether I turn Game Mode off or leave it on.

I just discovered that it works now in Sonoma with both Metal and OpenGL games.

Nope, still cannot see FPS counter. I have even tried turning on high contrast for the counter. Any suggestions?
