PS5 controller doesn't properly work on MacBook Air M1
Hi,

I have faced the following issue: in any game I try to play with PS5 controller, the D-pad does not work, it's unresponsive. As wired, as wirelessly.

I also noticed strange thing in Project Zomboid game. There, a user can navigate to settings and see what controllers are connected to be used to play. I do not know why, but the game recognized 2 controllers connected - DualSense and X360. The game automatically selected X360 to be used. When I removed the checkmark below X360 and left it only for DualSense, the D-pad started to work, but the R joystick was partially working (its movement was registered only per one axis instead of two).

When I tried to open another game, where user cannot select a controller to be used in settings, the D-pad was not working as previously. However, the R joystick was working as expected.

To conclude, for some reason any Steam game recognizes my PS5 controller as Xbox. And for this Xbox controller D-pad does not work.

I have spent quite a time to resolve it and this is what I tried so far: 1) Reboot Steam/Game; 2) Uninstall Steam; 3) Uninstall Game; 4) Re-configured callibration in Big Picture Mode > Settings > Controller configuration; 5) Tried to Disable / Enable Steam input and select "Use default settings";

Nothing helped for me. I hope for anyone's workaround.

I have a PS5 DS Bluetooth controller and M1 MacBook Air and haven't encountered this issue. Maybe there's something in the Mac System settings under Controllers? I seem to recall having to set up a profile before I could get it to work properly.
