Saved Games Location Mac M2 Monterey
Hello! Does anyone know where the saved games are on Mac Monterey on an M2 Mac? It's not in the ~/Library/Application Support folders so it seems they have hidden it under a different file name or something? I have unhidden files as well

Hi! It varies between games iirc, some are stored in ~/Documents. I think some might be in ~/Library as well, and possibly /Users/Shared/ and it might be worth opening the Steam.app bundle to see if any get stored there (I think there’s one in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam as well as the main applications folder).

Thank you! Do you know what folder I should be looking for? I can find the Steam folder but there are no files that hint at save gaves or are a .sav file. I've also found the game file which is just an icon, but when I 'show package contents,' I don't see any files that resemble user data or save games.

I've found a userdata folder but there are only 2 .vdf files in there

This is where I'm going: /Users/michelleny/Library/Application Support/Steam

Oops, I was probably wrong about saves in the app bundle. Just got back to my Mac and it looks like most saved games are stored in ~/Library/Application Support in folders with the developer name and/or game name. A normal Cmd-Space spotlight search won't find hidden and system files including anything in the Library folders, so the easiest way to find files for a particular game is probably with an app such as EasyFind (which is free) or by selecting your user Library folder in Finder and hitting Cmd-F.

I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! Thank you!! I used EasyFind (thank you!) to search for .sav files and found the game through the Containers file which is the most roundabout way ever. For future reference for anyone...

Go ~/Library/Containers then find GameName>Data>Library>ApplicationSupport>[DeveloperGameName]>SaveGames

Good job, and thanks for the tip about ~/Library/Containers :-)
