Steam Interface freeze when trying to exit full screen trailers/videos (Mac Studio / M1 Max)
When I'm in the store and click on a product video and go full screen, the video will play but it won't exit via the escape key or even the restore button in the video player. The steam interface just seems to freeze and take a while to exit, other times it just won't exit and I have to force quit the steam app in the dock.

Anyone know how to fix this? I think Steam is running under Rosetta on M1 macs, but I figured basic video watching of game trailers would work. Anyhow, any tips are appreciated.

Yep, Steam client is still an Intel-only app, so there is Rosetta translating and obviously there are some issues with this.
In another thread I just read: Apple Silicon still not officially supported.

My workaround: do all stuff (except running the client when your game needs it) about checking games, watching game trailers, checking discussions etc in the BROWSER.
Even buying via browser is without problems.

For example start with https://store.steampowered.com/

thanks for getting back...I'll just hit the web browser for a better trailer watching experience and hopefully native support in the future.

Hello,
On a Intel Mac (MacBookPro I5) today (steam client 1682573004).
When I put any video on fullscreen, the screen become black without mouse or control, full irresponsive.
I have to go to another desktop to close Steam to regain control.

Bad Steam.

Interesting, thanks! So even on (some) Intel-based Macs not the best experience… ;-/

How is your experience when watching fullscreen via browser?
