Feature Request: Allow compatibility launchers for macOS (ie. Wine/CrossOver/GPTK)

I would love to see the Steam client on macOS allow for launching games using compatibility tools (ie. Wine/CrossOver/GPTK).

For example, the Linux Steam client uses Proton to launch unsupported (Windows) games. It would be fantastic to support a similar solution on macOS.

I'm not asking Valve to develop a Proton-tool for macOS, but even allow 3rd party scripts/tools would allow the community to create what is needed.

I actually had a basic one working with older verisons of the MacOS steam client for DRM free games, but it stopped working a few months ago with steam client updates. I'd love to see this feature come back, especially with Apple's push into gaming with their offical GPTK
