Mac Steam desktop client error e8.
Despite being able to log-in successfully on Windows to my account, the process errors out with an e8 code when trying on the Mac. Re-installing the Steam client did not change anything.

Error code "e8" on the Mac Steam desktop client typically indicates a problem with the client's network connectivity.

I have the same issue, but everything else that requires a network is fine. Steam is the only app that isn't working.

I am having the same issue. Tried reinstalling, restarting, removing cache, nothing seems to be working.

It disappeared the next day, I am not sure how. Nothing changed, I didn't restart the computer or change internet connection in the meantime.

I don't know if anyone is still having the issue but I have fixed this problem by chance today in my Mac air m1.

This is what has worked for me.
I turned off wifi and then logged in in offline mode (when I tried to log in without a connection it offered me that choice).
Once logged in, I turned on wifi and change to online mode. Then an update popped up and after installing it, the client restarted and I could log in fine.

Thank you, Gurb !

1. Disconnect device from internet.
2. Start Steam in offline mode.
3. Reconnect internet.
4. Update Steam and restart app.
5. CONNECT!

Forever thankful.
