Trying to run Steam through Crossover on Mac

A while ago I managed to run some PC games and some 32-bit Mac games through Crossover but today I tried again and couldn't get it to work. Ended up updating Crossover hoping that would fix it, deleted my old Steam bottle b/c it wasn't working, and did a fresh reinstall.

Every game I get this error message "The program [program name].exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Anybody else running Windows Steam thru Crossover on a Mac and having this problem?

The problem I'm having trying to run an old game (Uru by Cyan) is that it won't load past Setup. Just boots me back out to Steam, no message. Occasionally I can get it to run if I do everything eg. verify local files, clear download cache, clear web browser (in Steam)...I bought Crossover to finish this game so it's pretty damn annoying to maybe be able to play it every third time I open it.
