If “beating” a 70 watt total power draw takes over 1000 watts, that’s hardly impressive. That’s honestly expected at the least. And it ain’t bragging either.

In any case, if you intend to spend that much on hardware, by all means go ahead. But you nor the hardware is superior for it. But you really shouldn’t put your ignorance on display.

No and no. Terrible and awful gaming platform is just a personal preference. I wish people stopped seeing their personal needs as a general rule. Sure, Mac gaming may ”suck” for you but it’s perfectly fine for many. I’ve been a Mac gamer since 1996 and played both small indie games and many AAA titles from different genres the past 26 years. In fact Marathon was the reason I got my first Mac, a Performa 6200 back then. I have gamed on PPC, Intel and now Apple Silicon and not once felt Mac gaming ”sucks”. Maybe because I enjoy my games more than I compare my Macs to PC.

You seem to forget, there is an objective set of metrics of what makes the best gaming platform. Of course you can argue that if all you do is play Candy Crush whilst on the train, then a mobile phone is better than a 1500W water cooled beast. This would be subjective though, and you cannot rank something subjectively.


The Three Big Factors of a Gaming Rig
Factors such as portability are subjective
1. Compute - M1/M2 lose to the best that Intel (and possibly AMD) have to offer.
2. Graphics - M1/M2 lose to the best that NVIDIA and AMD have to offer.
3. Upgradability & Extensibility - I don't need to mention anything here.

The above are objective and the most crucial factors in a gaming rig. The other options are more subjective, but you cannot judge a platform like you are based on subjective factors. If you have a mac and you play older games or ones that aren't too demanding, then the mac is probably the best for you.

Let's not change the topic. You weren't talking about "the best gaming platform/rig”. You said ”A mac is a terrible gaming platform, absolutely awful in all regards”. ”Terrible and awful” doesn’t mean it lacks in some aspects and is inferior, it strongly suggests you can’t game on a Mac, which is not true. The latest RE Village is only one proof.

No, those are all subjective factors because you're again speaking as if those factors are equally important to everyone. You're describing the best and fastest gaming rig, not the reality where people buy a computer for their needs. Yes, Mac has always been the inferior gaming device with fewer games but terrible and awful? No! Maybe for you who wants nothing but the best and fastest, but you and the PC master race are in minority.

Not only PC gaming is losing to consoles but the best and fastest offerings by Nvidia, AMD and Intel aren’t even in the top 40 most used GPUs on Steam. 4090 is on place 69 with 0.24%. 6900 XT is nr 73 with 0.23%. 6950 XT is not even used. The old 3090 is nr 41 with 0.59%. The top 5 popular GPUs are GTX 1650, GTX 1060, RTX 3060 mobile, RTX 2060 and GTX 1050 Ti.

You can’t judge a platform as ”terrible and awful in in all regards” by the fastest alternatives as you are doing. By your subjective opinions all those top 5 GPUs are ”terrible and awful in all regards” for gaming, or even worse, Nintendo Switch is also ”a terrible gaming platform, absolutely awful in all regards” because it loses to the best offerings by Nvidia, AMD and Intel.
