language problem

After the recent updating, the language is changed into English automatically. I try to change it into another one, but it doesn't work. Choose the language----restart steam----still the same.

I have same problem, I'm trying several times ... to change interface language from Korean (which is my Mac OS X language) to English, steam client demand to restart for applying language, but nothing changed .

Funny thing is ... before the lastest update, the interface language was English, but after updating it automatically changed to Korean. it seems like OS language has higher priority than my setting

Same here, it switched to Italian (which is my OS language).
Issued steam://flushconfig with no result, opened a support ticket, I guess we have to wait for a fix...

Same problem. My Steam is now set to German (like my OSX 10.11.6). I prefer English but it doesn't change to that.

I'm having the same issues since the latest Steam client update today.
My system language is German - now Steam's German, too and I cannot change it back to English.
My games aren't affected which is a huge relief.
I'm on Macbook pro late 2015, El Capitan 10.11.6.

So your OS is German and so is Steam?
You think changing the OS' language to English would solve anything?

I can confirm that switching OS language to English forces Steam to run in that language, still it's pretty annoying

To be honest, I don't really care what language my OSX has - I just didn't think of installing it in English because I am so used to it bein German. but since it solved my problem - well, I'll let it be that way.

But I get you - it's friggin' annoying.
