Steam will not downloading update stuck at 0%: Possible Solution

I had the problem of steam not downloading the update for me. Just stuck at 0%. Here's what worked for me. Launch the steam app. It tries to install the update and gets stuck. Turn your wifi on your computer off. Steam will disconnect and my app closed after a warning message that I wasnt connected to the internet. I turned my wifi back on and launched the app again. The download should work then. Hope this helps someone. :)

it wont work for me, i try:
1. open steam, check updates 0
2. turn OFF my wifi on my MBP
3. until steam said i'm not connected to network, it quits itself
4. i turn ON my wifi on my MBP
5. open steam app, it's still stuck on check updates 0

any help on this?

as i mentioned a few posts ago. activate your VPN or simply share data from your phone to your computer to generate a new IP.

Steam is blocking your IP from downloading

If this doesn't work for anyone try this, after turning your WIFI off, go to downloads. Click (play) on the game that you want to play. Then on the graph that shows the network usage if the green bar starts to rise, immediately turn your WIFI on and close the play game button. Then it should just download from there. Hope it works for y'all. I tried doing Dustychips tip but that didn't work so I did my twist on it and then bam, got it back to downloading splitgate.

Nothing works ever I just uninstall and redownload game updates don't work on my end never have I hate steam can't stand this stupid launcher with all my heart

If it says that you don't have an Internet connection... it helped me to go to Macbook Settings / networks / details / and cancel ...Hide IP address. It must be visible
