Please help me unblock steam at school
Hello,

When I try to launch steam (I have a macbook pro mid 2012, OSX Yosemite) I get an error: Can't connect to steam. I'm given two options, to go in offline mode or try again).

My friend uses hotspot shield on his windows 10 laptop to unblock steam. I tried this as well with the mac but it doesn't work.

Please don't comment things like you will get caught or something like that. I won't get caught, my friend has used this method for about a year now and he hasn't been caught, no one checks laptops here that we bring to school.

Could anyone help me?

Thank you very much in advance!!

Kind regards,

Winston

Here a little tip: At school you should just studdy, do the gaming at home :-p

Can't you ask your handy friend to configure this for you? There are plenty of options to by-pass it probably by using a proxy, or something else like using your smartphonea as a hotpot. (Note: Your data usage will go sky high).

Bring your laptop with you and go ask your school's systems admin for the password to allow you to open restricted apps on the school network. I'm sure he/she would be willing to help.
