I recommend you to wait until 10.13.3 or 10.13.4 version. Current versions have a lot of issues.

I have a 2011 iMac with 500 gig ssd and 8 gig ram running 10.13.1 with no problems. I'm currently only playing two games (Tyranny and Pillars of Eternity) but both are running great along with the Steam app.

If you don't wish to install High Sierra right now, simply go into your Applications folder in Finder (shortcut: Cmd + Shift + A), and delete the "Install macOS High Sierra" app.

I have been having some minor issues with High Sierra myself, most of them related to the new file system. I'd say there's no pressing need or benefit to upgrade right now, so if you're nervous about it, I'd hold off for a little while.

Good luck!

P.S. You *should* be using Time Machine or some other form of system backup just in case. That way you have that fall back in case you update your OS and things don't work well for you.

thx for the answer! i have time machine since the beginning of my mac time, on an external hdd of 1 tb, i didn't know you could turn back to another os, in the shop they said only they could do that with a special program.

You can restore an older backup, no problem with that and no special apps needed.
