[BETA?] Steam asking for “Chromium Safe Storage” Keychain access
Hi,

With the ”Oct 11 2019, at 16:23:02” build (Steam API: v020; Steam package versions: 1570837876), on every Steam launch I am getting a macOS (Mojave 10.14.6) prompt reading: ‘Steam Helper wants to use your confidential information stored in “Chromium Safe Storage” in your keychain’. It doesn't seem as if asking for this should be necessary. Is there a reason for it?

Cheers.

I'd like to second this question. I happen to have a copy of Chromium on my Mac, too, and it's disconcerting to see the new version of Steam try to access something that isn't obviously its own.

Steam client application built Oct 30 2019, at 13:12:07. macOS 10.14.6 (Mojave; I haven't updated to Catalina yet).

I was wondering this as well. Mojave 10.14.6, the Oct 30 update, Steam API V020, steam package version: 1572467527 I've been denying it, and it hasn't seemed to have affected anything so far, so I don't know why it is necessary?

Denying access doesn't seem to break anything... But, it is annoying that it asks each time.
