Steam Play / Proton on MacOS

Hello!

As a long time user of both Windows and Linux I have been really excited and happy about Steam Play / Proton to lift the barriers from gaming on GNU/Linux systems.

My disappointment was quite big when I bought a Mac recently and saw that Steam Play was not available on MacOS.

It works so amazing on Linux, and Wine in general works well on MacOS too - is there any specific reason it hasn't been ported to MacOS yet?

You can't, it's not compatible with most Apple Silicon devices. Props to the team for making so many pieces of actual incredible code, though.

I wouldn't recommend it as an option just yet but they've already beaten Apple at so many games already including outperforming M* native ports. In about a year or two it'll probably daily driver ready and have better performance in gaming than MacOS as most games aren't ARM native which modern MacOS runs like ass and even native ports seem to be optimized which annoys the crap out of me as every game publisher should FINISH THE JOB if they are going to be selling titles as "native".
