Game Controllers, Steam (and CrossOver), and the Apple M1 Chip (re: not working; who needs to be fix this?)

It looks like this issue is well known, but most of the games are not working with any (?) game controller such as the DualShock 4 and Xbox One controllers.

However, some games/programs are working without any problems:
- Steam - Littlewood
- Steam Big Picture Mode
- iOS games

I've heard that Rosetta 2 doesn't support controllers but I don't think that's true. The game controllers work fine in Steam Big Picture Mode which I'm almost certain is running under Rosetta 2.

Does anybody know what is the actually the problem or limitation?

I'd like to also reach out to Apple and Valve and see if this can be fixed. It's a huge disappointment to have the games working fantastic on the Apple M1 but the controllers completely broken.
