Garry's Mod technically isn't supported on Mac OS due to apple dropping their support for 32-bit apps in Mac OS Catalina and higher versions.

However, Garry's mod has a 64-bit beta branch which is compatible with MacOS Catalina.

- Right click on Garry's Mod in your Steam Library
- Select "properties" from the menu that appears
- Go to the tab titled "Betas"
- Switch to "x86-64 - Chromium + 64-bit Binaries"

Then finally, you can launch Garry's Mod.

Will the beta branches be able to play with others on servers or would they still be considered beta users through servers? Trying to get this game to work for my bf but he has the new MacBook M1 Pro

I have MacOS Monterey. Therefore there's no fix atm to be able to play Gmod on this OS... Just bought it too :( I have a Macbook Air 2020 running with M1 chip... anyone know any type of fix?? Unless I have to wait for them to release a 64 bit beta/version... :(

for Gmod there should be a 64bit beta branch alredy... right click on the game in your library and go to settings>betas and choose it

I’ve been looking around and apparently updating CEF should work but I haven’t seen anyone confirming this and I don’t know how to update CEF so I wouldn’t know. Other then that Ive seen someone use crossover and it worked. You can find cracked crossover downloads around if you look hard enough. Don’t get a virus.

I think I have a solution, in the betas section, turn on the 64 bit binaries and it “should” work more or less.

i tried this, when i clicked "start new game" it softlocked and i couldnt click on anything :(
