Newbie Needs your help!
Hey

Sorry for those of you who've read an message like this a mission times...

I have just joined steam after being redirected via Kalypso when buying Tropico 6. I only bought it there as it was on sale but presumed I would just be able to download the app as if I was on the app store. Alas no! I'm here and i've had nothing but issues trying to get my game to load at all. Can't seem to get a refund from either party so was hoping someone could help me try and work out whats going wrong?

My iMac was really slow after downloading the game so yesterday I deleted it from my desk top. It's still in my Steam Library just have no idea where to start now?

Thanks in advance!

We’re going to need more info. Which OS version are you on and what exactly is the issue you’re having? Is there an error message you’re getting?

As for refunds. The rule is either 2 hours playtime or/and 14 days. So you might still be able to get one.

Hey thanks for your replies.

My system is as follows:

iMac
Mac Os Catalina Version 10.15.7
Processor: 2.9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
Memory; 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB graphics
I have 65.2 GB of storage available

I'm getting a message on my apple which says "verifying Tropico App and it just sits there with the pink line half way over but doesn't move.. My computer slows down and that's it.

I've reinstalled the Steam app. If I click on play in the library nothing happens??

Just glancing at the Tropico 6 page...it seems you don't meet the minimum requirements.

The other issue seems to be that Tropico 6 just doesn't like some Macs:

My advice, look around the Tropico 6 discussion section and see if someone there's found a workaround. Someone else here might have some better advice.

As long as you have under 2 hours and bought it within 14 days, you should still qualify for a refund. Even saying that, if the auto refund system rejected your request, try opening a manual ticket and an actual human will look at it. You should have a good case for a refund because your issue is obviously technical and multiple people have reported it to the dev. A refund isn't guaranteed but it's a possibility. Go to the purchase history section on your account page, select Tropico 6, and click "I have a question about this purchase".

Hiya
Thank you. I've tried to do that on purchase history alas i bought it through Kalypso so it doesn't show up on there. I've messaged the support guys and had a pretty unhelpful response so have asked again for a refund. She said that I needed to download the Mac version of Steam which I had already done... that was the extent of the help....

Reply with what you did. Imagine you talk to a machine. Simple and short.
Emphasize that you want a refund if you have enough.

Less than 2 hours playtime, less 14 days of purchase you can also simply use the refund function.

They bought it through Kalypso and just activated it on Steam, so they have to get a refund from Kalypso. Which kinda sucks, because they don't seem all that interested in refunds, even though it seems like a pretty common problem with Tropico 6 and Macs.

Oh OP, you're in the UK? You should remind Kalyso's customer support of your consumer statutory rights - product in this case totally did not work as advertised and has a reproducible issue that the devs are aware of.

Thanks. I've just been told by Kalypso I don't have the right graphics card. So that's that. Now lets see about that refund. I won't hold my breath!

Hopefully, you get a refund, because this whole situation bloody sucks.

I'm curious how you come to that conclusion. The minimum and recommended specs for games are generally available to know before buying and downloading a game. This is not entirely on Kalypso...

So the money was not meant to be in their pocket in both situations.
Where is the problem?
