Please Help! Steam Can't Read My VRAM (Macbook Pro 2020)
So I just get a new Macbook Pro 2020. It have a dedicated Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB graphics card. Then I install Steam and wanted to play FM 2020, but it only give me 1 star graphic quality. Then I check on Steam > Help > System Information, it state that my VRAM is 0. How is this possible?

Here's the Steam's system information statement:

I mean even if it displayed your vram you're not gonna get much out of that thing.

It shares memory with the system.

Because integrated graphics, which the Iris is, does not have dedicated VRAM memory. So zero is the correct answer. It shares a portion of the system memory, of which you have a total of 8GB, but it's not the same as VRAM.

Any info how to make FM 2020 run smooth on MacBook Pro 2020?
Kietan Oct 31, 2020 @ 9:49am
Nope, You've bought a system that isn't designed for running games. Your options are severely limited.

You sure? Because then I do bootcamp and install Windows 10 in my Macbook Pro and it's different. You can see the Primary VRAM: 1024 MB

Yes, and I saw several problems like this, related with Steam app on Mac.

because it is borrowing 1024 MB from the main memory. it's still not dedicated VRAM.

Just because your computer is "new" doesn't mean it's "good" for gaming. It absolutely is not good for gaming. Vram is meant to come with a video CARD, not the integrated chipset that is on a motherboard - which is what your computer has. I don't know whether your mac can be upgraded, get a card for it, or look for very low end requirements. It does not have a video card and will never act any differently no matter which OS you're using.
