no steam folder showing up in application support?
Hi, I'm new to steam and running Mojave on a macbook pro. I can download and open steam, but the download process is not setting up a steam folder in my application support folder, which I think is causing trouble with me being able to open games. I have tried restarting, clearing cache, reinstalling, but nothing works. Steam will even verify my local files as uncorrupted. But if I try to open a game, I get a message that I am missing an executable and most of the posts on troubleshooting i have found direct me to do something involving a folder with a path like library/applicationsupport/steam or something similar which in my case does not exist, has never existed, and I don't know how to make it exist. help please!!

I believe there should be a "Steam" folder under "Library/Application Support"

It should appear when you install Steam on your Macbook, I'm not aware of why it wouldn't but that is why you're getting the Missing Executable message when launching games.

Yes! My problem is that this folder is not appearing when I download steam. I have not had this problem with other applications that needed to set up folders in application support.

There is supposed to be a folder there for Steam, if not then perhaps it's an issue regarding the installation of the Steam client application, have you tried reinstalling Steam?

While going through the install process, I think it should mention the file path it downloads to, if that's not the case then I'm probably wrong, I don't primarily use Mac OS.
