Steam won't open on Mac, the app just bounces once
I'm running the latest update on my Mac and I downloaded the 64-bit version of steam. I tried reinstalling it, but this didn't work. The steam app does appear in my dock, but when I click on it, it bounces once and does nothing. Please help

I found out how to fix it! I went to my files and just deleted everything that had to do with steam. So I went in the search bar in Finders, looked up 'Steam' and just deleted it all. After that, I reinstalled steam and now it works! hope this helps

This let me launch again, but Steam again crashed and left me in the same state.

Yes, this worked for me. I used Clean My Mac (but any other thorough app remover should work), then reinstalled Steam and then it went thought multiple relaunches, running some updates, and then it worked perfectly.

after you remove steam app to trash you have to to remove steam folder
Go to the Library folder → Application Support → remove the Steam subfolder.
reinstall Steam - DONE :)
