Shift Tab shortcut wont work while in game.

The shortcut that opens the ingame steam won't work. Having this problems for months while looking for a solution. I'm using a Macbook with MacOS catalina v10.15.6

maybe your steam isnt open in the background. Also which game does this occur in. If Shift+Tab doesnt work in Counter strike global offensive, then you can always go to the inventory and open the steam overlay from there.

It doesnt work in any game I play. I play mostly garry's mod but while Im trying to invite somebody or join my shift+tab doesn't work. I have to alternatively switch out of gmod and use the friends and chat window to invite/join.
