Depends what you want to do. Bootcamp is free and a PC is not (unless someone gives you one). In either case, your computer must still meet the requirements for the game. I have used Bootcamp on my Mac Pro (mid-2012) since it first came out and have run Windows XP, 7, & now 10 but as a pure PC (re-booted into Windows vs using one of the environments such as VMware or Parallels). Over the holidays I found a reasonably priced Windows 10 PC laptop (i7 processor) with an Nvidia GTX 1050 that I now have. The biggest issue with our Macs is their native lack of support for the better graphics cards. I have tried a flashed GTX770 2 GB (it stopped working after a year), a GTX970 4GB (that stopped working after the latest Apple system update even though the latest Nvidia drivers were installed), and now I am using an AMD Radeon 460 4GB that I got off Ebay for a little over $100. It isn't quite as good as the GTX 970 but it has driver support in the Mac OS. Anyway, I still have the laptop with the GTX 1050. :steamhappy:

I honestly thought that with Steve Jobs out of the way (he was the one who hated gaming) and a new CEO in charge that things might change for Mac gaming. After all, they can see what's made the iPhone and iPad so popular - the games. So why aren't they embracing it for Mac? Especially now they've got Metal.

I'm in a quandary. I've got a crap PC which can't really play new games so I tend to stick to my PS4. But I would love to have a Mac. I'm fed up of Windows 10. But I don't know whether I need my head testing if I buy an iMac with the Radeon 580 and try to game with it (preferably in macOS) or buy a HP PC with a 1070 for almost half the price.

Obviousely bootcamp, unless you don't have a Usb-C drive installed (ram-Support disk)

And that is, if you have at least 8 gb ram on your mac
