macOS Catalina and macOS Big Sur incompatibility list
UPDATE On July 6th, 2020, Steam updated their beta, which added support for macOS Big Sur. Please switch your clients to the Steam beta and update your client if you want compatibility. Most issues described below should now be fixed. Yes, I will continue updating this.
UPDATE 2 The macOS Big Sur Beta 3 release breaks all Steam games. Please stay on Beta 1 or 2.
UPDATE 3 A new Steam update (maybe for Beta clients?) has launched, which fixes the issues on Big Sur Beta 3.

This is a reminder that if you are using macOS, please use macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 or macOS Mojave 10.14.6 if possible. Otherwise, use macOS Catalina, preferrably 10.15.3. Steam does not work properly on macOS Big Sur. If you'd like to know why these options are chosen, you can see my reply here.

This is a universal thread for issues with Steam and it's games on macOS Catalina and macOS Big Sur.

Big Sur incompatibilities:
Sid Meier's Civilization VI

Catalina incompatibilies:
Choice Chamber
The Stanley Parable
The Beginner's Guide

This will be updated as more games are commented.

Why choose these macOS versions?

macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 is chosen because it's the latest version that doesn't have the 32-bit warning pop-up.

macOS Mojave 10.14.6 is chosen because it's the latest version of macOS Mojave. Nothing got truly deprecated after launch in this version.

macOS Catalina 10.15.3 is chosen because it's the latest version that supports kernel extensions. While kernel extensions aren't particularly needed by Steam, it has the most compatibility out of any version of Catalina.
Tomb Raider (2013) on Big Sur
Football Manager 2020, Hearts of Iron IV, Euro Truck Simulator 2 all don't work via steamapps launch. Parkitect is the only game that I've got working in this way.

All the games have been added.

I get two different errors depending on how i launch the game.
From the library folder - "You Can't open the application "Civ6" because it may be damaged or incomplete".
From the desktop shortcut - steam error box opens up with the following message - "An error occurred while updating Sid Meier's Civilization VI (invalid platform)"
ShadowVerse won't start - Steam Error - Invalid Platform
IdelChampions - Crashes after opening images.

Use the library folder method, but when you get to the .app, try right-clicking it and going into Contents/MacOS, and then open the executable from there. Does it give the same error?

There is no MacOS in the contents folder for Civ6. The only thing it has is an assets folder. Digging into that folder only shows the DLC I have purchased and a log file.

No, you're looking in the wrong place. SteamDB literally shows me that there is a MacOS folder. Again, right-click Civ6.app, and Show Package Contents.
