Steam won't open suddenly and just keeps bouncing on Doc (Mac 10.9.5)
I've been using steam no problem but one day it just stops working, I would click on it and it wouldn't open, it just keeps bouncing on my dock. I've tried reinstalling it and trying to locate the steam folder in my app support files but it s not in it.

I have looked at a lot of forums but honestly none help.

I have not changed any settings or whatever during this whole period it simply stops working suddenly.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

thanks x

hello, the only thing I can think of is that the antivirus may have eliminated some dll.:steamfacepalm:

It is supposed to be in your Library/ApplicationSupport/Steam.

You may need to reset your NVRAM to clean out the issue. Restart computer holding Command-Option-P-R keys to reset the NVRAM until you hear the ding twice & then let go.

Is there anyway I can just download a complete version of steam.dmg? I have reinstalled the app before so I don't understand why that doesnt reset it and solve the problem? :(

Also running 10.9.5, also having this exact same problem. The problem just started a few days ago, maybe it's related to latest update?

Uninstalled Steam then reinstalled, which got it working again for a day or so. Then today, tried to open Steam, icon starts bouncing but never opens. Tried to open game directly from steam library, would flash screen for a second like game was going to load, but then it disappears and nothing happens.

Tried to clear NVRAM, didn't work. Will try again, maybe I didn't hold it in long enough. Will reply if it works. Seems like a few mac users are having this issue, so hopefully someone will find a fix soon.
