Mac Steam does not open?!?

When I try to open Steam on my Mac Sierra the icon instantly vanishes. Have already tried deinstalling and reinstalling it - no luck. I even deleted the Steam Application Support Folder but nothing worked.

they are giving the same response to everyone which is like a joke! I don't believe they are taking this seriously. I fired back, and told them to cancel this last update, because I don't believe them to fix it anytime soon. I'm very irritated by steam today. this is weekend, and they totally ruined it for me.

yep, happened to me. I was able to play this morning, logged out for a while and came back unable to login anymore. I have reinstalled, reset password, restarted Mac. Hope there is a fix soon.

I was playing normally last night, and after one small update, Steam stopped working, it bounces for once but has no signs of opening. My Mojave is also updated to the most recent system.

I have tried several solutions:
1) Re-install
2) Delete Bundle

None of these have worked.

Has anyone found any other ways to get Steam back running?

Sigh, this isn't the first time I've had issues with Steam in the past month.

Whether it's a font issue or Steam not liking the type of partition macOS is using it's unacceptable either way.

Extremely frustrating.

Considering the comments of "Wade" and others, I do not believe I will invest any more money in this platform considering how poor the support is for OSX, if not any other OS.

This is just inept programming which I have bought into.

Someone found the fix...I hope this works for all of you. It did for me.
Go into your font book and open all your system fonts. There is a conflict. If you have a font program on your computer instead like suitcase or fontexplorer, just find the system folder and activate all the fonts. You can slowly close them at some point if you don't want them all on but one of those is causing the issue. It worked for me and I tried everything except that, I did this morning and it worked fine.

This is the last update i got after sending a link to this thread:

"Unfortunately, we have been unable to reproduce this issue here on multiple Macs and we are also not receiving a widespread report of this from other users. At this time it seems something local to the device and outside of Steam is preventing it from opening.

in regards to the thread, we are not seeing anything in common with those accounts that would suggest the cause of the issue is the exact same for all of them."

What if I don’t have a font program, where do I find the font???

Open the Font Explorer application, click File and Restore Standard Fonts. It worked for me.

Hey Guys, My Steam started working again by activating all of my fonts.

A very strange way to solve the issue.
