"Verifying Login Information...
... There was an error communicating with the Steam servers. Please try again later."

I've tried Festive Winter's solutions and none of them have worked for me. Running on Mavericks, Macbook Pro Retina Mid-2013.

I'd highly appreciate any assistance on the matter.

Can you login via Safari?
KazDro Jul 28, 2018 @ 11:23pm
To the steam store webpage (steampowered), I can. For steam community, all I get is some plain text and broken images, and whenever I click on "sign in" after entering my account name and password, nothing happens. No loading in address bar, not a single response in Safari, as if the button is broken.
Try changing your DNS Servers (Google for instructions for MacOS).

Changing my DNS Servers? I know the process on Mac, but I haven't the slightest clue what exactly needs changing.

Edit: Could you elaborate, please?

Well, like I said, whenever I attempt to access the Steam community site on my Macbook's Safari browser, I get the entire site as a column of plain text and blue hyperlinks, with the images disabled and replaced with small blue broken/question mark icons.

I can advance to where I type in my account name and password, but cannot proceed further because clicking on the "sign in" button does nothing whatsoever, and so I am stuck on that page.

I have already tried that as well, and whenever I click on "I can't sign in", it does not take me to the steampowered page, and there is no "sign in to steam" option either.

I'm having the same problem, Steam website only shows up as hyper links on Safari (running 9.1.3) on Mavericks 10.5.9, and I don't know how to fix it. Any way to work around this?

Having this problem as well. Safari 8.0 on Yosemite 10.10.1, Steam website is broken (only showing plain text/hyper links, sign in button doesn't work) and getting the verification error in the Steam client. I only use steam on this and my other Mac (same problem with it too) so this is a really big pain

I have the same problem. My steam can’t connect to steam servers and the steam web page is just blue links.
