ps4 dualshock controller not working steam mac rocket league!!! HELP ME!!!!

It is a sad day indeed. problems at work. the lady is mad at me. i just need to league but the controller isn't working now, after always working before.

I've tried a lot of things. Currently, I have "playstation configuration support" unchecked in big picture controller settings. "guide button focuses steam" is checked, but i think it was before... Under "detected controllers" at the bottom it says "unregistered: playstation 4 controller"

what can i do to get this controller working again so i can finally meditate on league, go back to work feeling good tomorrow and make my lady like me again??? PLEASE!!!! thank you!

Wow glad I’m not alone in this, I have tried everything to get it working I got a new USB cable, switched PS4 controllers and even tried to use a Xbox 360 wired controller and nothing works. I’ve tried to fix it for hours now and I’ve searched and searched for a problem but nothing seems to work. I think something has happened to mac players for rocket league since the steam update and it screwed something up, I’m going to try to email steam and phyonix to see if they can resolve the problem.

I have the exact same problem. Also now after the update, my RL window always stays on the desktop and isn't its own full window, i find this really annoying aswell.

yeah i have the same problem, whenever i swipe across my trackpad to switch desktops, it almost minimizes into the bottom right hand side of my dock and idk how to fix it, pls help

After searching I found a working solution.


First you have to follow this guys wired - method instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0GbFnCC9eQ

Then restart Steam and proceed to open Rocket League and then you should be good to go.

(If its still not working, try launching Rocket League while in big picture mode)

this did not work for me but i started trying to do more things to solve the problem and i found a sollution that may or may not apply to everyone. when you start up steam big picture mode and you go into controller settings it may pop up with a message saying that the gamepad driver needs to be updated, click that download the software, then allow it in system preferences> security and privacy then it should be on the bottom. once you have allowed it then restart your computer. once your back on, identify your controller in big picture mode if it isnt already then launch rocket league and it should be working just fine. hope this helps!
