Can't get CS:GO to work with ANY controller, including Steam controller
Ugh,

I can't to get any controller to work with CS:GO for Mac. I even bought a Steam Controller today thinking that would work - Valve game, Valve controller, Valve store. But it did not. I'm about ready to delete Steam off my Mac.

PS4 controller, after the first time I connected, will no long connect to my Mac via Bluetooth. (Yes, I tried resetting the Mac's Bluetooth controller. Did not work).

Xbox One S controller connects to Bluetooth fine. But the movement joystick simply does not work in CS:GO, nor does it seem to remember any of the keys I programmed in the Steam controller configurator.

Steam Controller connects via dongle, but like the Xbox One S controller the joystick simply doesn't work in CS:GO. Nor does it seem to remember my key programmings in CS:GO.

Even more confusing is that in CS:GO requires a double trigger tap to select ANYTHING in the menu. And my Macbook Pros ForceTouch trackpad gets very stiff.

I'm confused as to whether "controller support" should be enabled or disabled INSIDE the in game menu in CS:GO game after it is launched. None of the controller configs match what I put in the Steam controller configurator prior to launch.

Overall very frustrating. I'd like to get the Steam controller to work.

Why do you want to use a controller for CSGO?

To play on couch.

I did find a hit and miss solution - Just map WASD Keyboard and Mouse to the Controller. Then it works about 50% of the time. I seem to have more success launching it NOT in Big Picture Mode.

I learned through trial and error that if I hear the music immediately after entering CS:GO, it means it has properly applied the Steam Controller's settings. If the music only starts after I click something it means it has not. And then I need to quit, restart, and pray the music comes on immediately.

Word of warning: you’re going to have a very hard time playing csgo with a controller.
