Trackpad drivers do not work properly and the thermal management is bad. Apart from that, it does work.
Note that thermals govern performance.
edit: Oh yes, there was something I couldn't get working. I think it was the bluetooth but I don't remember. A lot depends on the age of your mac. The older ones will be less trouble as the Linux people have had more time to write or fix the drivers.

Catalina for sure did get some heat for some obvious problems.
I used Disk Utility to format the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID Partition Map. Be aware you have to choose "Show all devices" from the menu in the top left corner to get the option to choose GUID Partition Map.
I downloaded the Mojave installer using this link:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?ls=1&mt=12
After downloading just stop the installer from working and the installer will remain in your application folder.
I made a bootable, external Mojave install disk on a USB stick using these steps:
Erase and rename the USB stick "Mojave" in Disk Utility. Then open Terminal and paste this in:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia—volume /Volumes/Mojave
You now have a Mojave install drive and a drive to install it on. You are good to go. Mount them both and reboot your Mac holding down the option key. The rest should be easy.
I now use Catalina to work. And when I want to play TF2 I reboot the Mac holding down the option key and choose the Mojave disk. It's a bit irritating you have to do all this but I love this stupid old game :-)

You are going to create a separate AFPS Volume and install Mojave from a USB Or External Drive to the separate Volume you create like it shows you in this video.
I allocated about 100GB for the volume, had Mojave on a USB, Booted into the USB, Installed Mojave on the separate Volume, and now I can play TF2 again.
You just gotta boot into it separately than just normally ( again, it shows you in the video )
All the best.
Let me know the solution for this because I'm having this issue if you don't mind.
