No keyboard input & mouse movement via Steam Link (Samsung TV app, steam installed on MacBook Pro)
Hello all,

This may be a bit of a complicated situation. Here goes:

I have a PC and a Macbook Pro at home, both are connected to 1 monitor (I got a button to switch the input of which computer the monitor gets the signal from). The same goes for the mouse and keyboard; they are also connected to a switch with a button to change input to PC or the MacBook.

I have a Samsung television (2018 model) with a build-in Steam Link app so I can stream my PC to the television. This works flawlessly and the mouse and keyboard work without a problem on the Steam Link when I got the PC turned on (Macbook off).

When I want to work the other way around (macbook on and PC off), the mouse and the keyboard don't seem to work. Strange thing is that the mouse buttons do work (right click opens up the menu, left click closes the menu) but totally no movement of the mouse.

The Samsung television has a one-connect-box (so the tv is connected with 1 wire to an external 'box' in which you plug all your other devices like any consoles, blu ray etc). I bought a cheap wireless mouse-keyboard combo which has a usb-plug to plug into this box, on which the mouse and the keyboard connect to.

I tried pressing the button to change the input from Mac to PC but all this does is changing the input to the PC (in which case the right mouse button menu does not appear when I click the RMB, therefor I'm 100% positive it must not be pressed).

I know my setup is a bit complex but since it works perfect for the PC I know the cheap mouse and keyboard combo are not broken. It seems to work for the Macbook (as it opens up the menu when I press the RMB), but I hope I can find anyone here who understands what I do wrong or got this issue himself and know how to fix it.

Thanks in advance! Regards

I just want to add something:

I tried connecting the mouse and keyboard directly to the Macbook but it still doesn't fix the problem so the problem can not be in the switch. And if it would be the switch, streaming from PC should also bring this problem but since it doesn't it can't be the case.

Thank you for your reply, sadly it was not the solution for the problem. I think it's quite unique in the way I got my systems set up, though when I hook up my keyboard and mouse directly to the macbook and start steam link on my tv the problem still persists. Hope anyone has the key to this problem!
