Assassin's Creed Odyssey for Mac
Is it really possible or just a waste of time? I've seen some people say that they can confirm they are able to run it and others say it is not possible. I tried installing Windows 10 and making a bootcamp partition for it but had absolutely no luck as it messed up the rest of my computer and applications (I don't think I installed it correctly) and wasn't fixed until I removed the partition. But to download Windows 10 it said that my Mac had to be updated so I updated it to the latest version and installed Mojave. Ever since installing Mojave I haven't been able to get Wine to work which would seemingly make this impossible. But, admittedly I don't really have any idea what I'm doing (though I've spent hours watching tutorials and reading threads and articles to try to figure it out) as all other games I've played are Mac games, to begin with so I might just be doing it entirely wrong. I'm wondering if it's worth it to keep trying after I have been for two weeks now or just try to see if I can get a refund... I was really hoping to make it work but the lack of information online for how to run a very popular game on a popular mainstream platform doesn't seem to bode well. If anyone has been able to get the game working on a Mac or MacBook, how did you do it?

Does your Mac even meet the hardware requirements for this rather demanding game?

It's a MacBook 2017, retina, with a processor of 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5, memory of 8GB, with an Intel HD Graphics 615 1536 MB. If any of that doesn't meet the requirements, is there a way to upgrade it?

I mostly use mine for Civ VI and it's always worked.

I just checked and since I've had the game over two weeks I don't think I can get a refund so I'm willing to do about whatever it takes to get it running. Of course I bought it just before it went on sale too... 😐

upgrade a mac? LMAO. I cant tell if your being dead serious with that sentence but LMAO.

Get a Windows computer not a crappy mac those specs will never play that game at decent decent frame rates.

That MacBook does not even remotely meet the minimum requirements and as with pretty much every laptop/notebook, it can't be upgraded.

You did read the system requirements before buying, right?

Your integrated videochip is destroyed by the as minimum listed GTX 660. A videocard that was released 7 years ago.

Yeah, good luck with that as you are no longer eligible for a refund.

I did end up getting a refund so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it all worked out.

You got lucky. Hopefully you'll take a closer look at the system requirements from now on.
