If you're just making ultra basic edits sure.
Though a lot of modern programs can utilize a CPU and GPU for rendering videos quickly on a PC. Not sure why you would want to render only on a CPU.

it has a i7-8565U instead of the i5 8th generation and 16GB RAM instead of the 8GB, much more ideal for video editing

Very basic editing, yes, but the Air is only dual-core as I recall, and has generic integrated graphics. It's more for surfing the web, office or school work on the move, that sort of thing. Serious video editing is going to be difficult (and slow) on one.

The Pro models are much more geared towards resource intensive work like video editing. They are of course, much more expensive.

So, depends what you want to do.

If your workflow doesn't need a Mac, or you don't usually use one - remember there are lots of great Windows based alternatives out there with equal or better specs to some of the MacBook Pro models, for quite a bit cheaper. Can be hard to find Windows laptops with as good (and 16:10!) screens though. Second-hand MacBooks are also a thing and sometimes way better deals than buying brand new. But riskier.

Laptop CPU, no dedicated GPU, it's an Apple so it's practically useless and if the OP needs something fixed/ replaced they're going to want to replace entire pieces for an absurd amount of money rather than the easy-fixes as seen by Louis Rossman.

@GameFanaticTV - Seriously, don't go for apple. Get and use a pc or pc laptop and get a non-subscription based service where you actually own the copy of the program. Not to mention you can still use it for everything else and game on it depending on the game and specifications. Follow Barnacle Boys links, preferably the one with an actual video card in it if you still intend on playing games or not doing stupidly basic editing cuts. Either way, people think apple is the way to go for these things; they arent. Brand price tag vs actual performance by dollar for Barnacle Boys links; yeah, I'd choose what he suggests.
