Trackpad on Mac acting weirdly after June 14 steam client update
Both in-game (Rocket League) and in some Steam Client menus (eg General Controller Settings), the trackpad is broken. When I touch the trackpad, it is as if the trackpad is a map of the screen and the mouse jumps to the relative position on the screen. So for example, if I touch the top right corner of the trackpad, the mouse jumps to the top right corner of the window, no matter where it was previously. When I move the mouse across the screen, it freaks out, jumping quickly between the location the Mac system mouse is (underneath) and the in-game/menu mouse (in other words, it jumps between the actual location and the trackpad-relative position).

Also when I move the mouse, it acts as if I am click-dragging.

It seems the mouse operation is very broken after this latest Steam update. Please help.

System: 15-in Macbook Pro 2017, macOS 10.14.5, Radeon Pro 560.

I am facing the exact same issue. Rocket league is impossible to use the trackpad with and the behavior of the cursor is the exact same even in Big Picture mode.

I tried removing and reinstalling but my problem is still there. I did not remove any game data for the uninstallation. Did you remove all game data as well?

Still have this issue on two macbooks (El Capitan 2015 15' and Mojave 2018 13').
Cursor is flying all around moving the car and it's not possible to click on anything.
Although using two fingers I can move car camera and that works as expected.
Using controller, everything works fine.

When steam is opened in game and steam windows are hovering over game, cursor still affect the game and can move and click game interface.

I tried to reinstall steam multiple time, deleted all steam data from computer and installed it from scratch but without success.

Any help?

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled as well, with no change whatsoever. Issue still happens. Makes it really hard to navigate the menu system.

hi i got the same problem and sent this to support:

"
hi, since the last update, whenever i go to a page (usually from a new comments notification link) the link takes me to the page as usual,
but if i try to scroll down with the mouse wheel, or the scrollbar, the window keeps trying to re-take me (and locks the scrolling/jitters the scrolling) to where the last link took me.

so if it takes me to comments, when i try to scroll down, it scrolls down more
and when i go a bit more it goes back up, and when i go up it goes down..

workaround to break out of this scrolling/jittering lock, so far seems to be to press the middle mouse button (to activate windows scrolling) move slightly with the mouse, and then to click or scroll normally and its ok again.

i havent updated any drivers since the last steam update, and i tried launching the game with nvidia, (or intel onboard card) and its the same thing.

hi just to add that i think its the link (anchor)
its like it is always trying to take me to the last seen comment (all the time) not just 1 time.

usually i disable my keyboard mouse, and use a mouse, but i switched off my mouse as a test, and used the keyboard inbuilt mouse to click up a bit in the scrollbar on the right side, and it still suddenly jumps back to where i was. even if i hold down the click button.
"

i was told to "contact the community" in case its just my computer, but i guess something really did go wrong in the code. (maybe javascript being too actively trying to keep taking people to anchor links? :)

Same for me. Also tried re-installing, but that didn't help.

Steam support told me that they can’t help and to try steam beta release.
