Counter Strike 1.6 will not launch on Mac OS Catalina
Just updated to Catalina today, and now CS 1.6 will not launch in STEAM. I had to re-download STEAM because it was a 32-bit application. After downloading, CS 1.6 will not launch. Is this the same for anyone else?

CS 1.6 is not a 64-bit title.

:qr:
Do you think it will be upgraded to 64-bit?
Highly doubtful. You can hope though.

You can see which apps are 64 bit by right clicking > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files > Right Click the app > Show Package Contents > Contents > MacOS > Right Click Unix Executable > Get Info > Copy the Where:

/Users/yourUSERnameHERE/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/SlayTheSpire/SlayTheSpire.app/Contents/MacOS/SlayTheSpire

Open Terminal and execute the following command:

file "/Users/yourUSERnameHERE/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/SlayTheSpire/SlayTheSpire.app/Contents/MacOS/SlayTheSpire"

Please replace /yourUSERnameHERE/ with your actual Mac user name. The results will show:

/Users/yourUSERnameHERE/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/SlayTheSpire/SlayTheSpire.app/Contents/MacOS/SlayTheSpire (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64

I'm sorry, but this response confuses me. Can you explain a little more?
You can right click on games in your Library list and one of the right click options is Properties.

One of the Tabs in the Properties window is Local files.

One of the buttons in the Local Files tab is Browse Local Files

Browse Local Files open a Finder Window.

The Finder window shows the game's App file.

Right Clicking the Game's App file in the Finder Window allows you to select Show Package Contents.

Show Package contents opens a new Finder Window Directory.

This directory has a Contents folder.

The contents folder has a MacOS folder.

The MacOS folder should contain a Unix Executable file.

Right clicking that file should show Get Info.

Terminal is a program located in Applications > Utilities

I appreciate your guidance. Are these tips meant to help me get CS 1.6 to launch on my Mac with Catalina?
Wine or Bootcamp is it now.

What are those, and will they run CS 1.6 on my Mac? Thanks.
Bootcamp installs Windows on your Mac. Wine emulates windows on your Mac.
I guess I will have to look into those programs. Thanks.
forget about Wine it is 32bit based it will not work anymore
PortingKit allows you to run many older games on 64bit mac. This is essentially a wine, with custom wrappers written for different games.
But I can't see cstrike here, only half-life, but I did not try it yet.
Don't expect it to be a walk in the park, I doubt it's possible to install cs as a mod for a half-life inside portingkit.
