Turn iMac display off when using steam link


Hey Guys
Got myself a Steam Link and have it up and running but I cant figure a way to turn off my iMacs display without making the TV where the Steam Link is connected to go to a black screen.

Every time I turn off the iMac display without putting the mac to sleep the link gets a black display. I can still get the audio but yer no image.

I've tried control shift eject, hit corners where it turns display off and even in settings where I prevent computer from sleeping when display is off but all this still gives my steam link a black screen too

Anyone know how to fix this as I don't really wanna have my iMac display on when using the Steam Link as it's annoying and wastes power too.
