New to Steam on MAC - no ability to login at all
New to Steam on Mac (Sierra OS) , when launching Steam, all I can see is Steam icon and Valve at the bottom, no login information or anything else. Bought a game but unable to connect to Library. Please help

What happens is that in the launch screen where Steam usually asks to create new or enter existing account , it is just black. I installed same client on my macbook pro and it worked without an issue so the problem is with the Mac mini.

Any hints? I run Font Book, looked for issues , have it now report is having no issues but still no luck with Steam

thank you!

If you can: uninstall the update. I'm just going to wait until they fix it, THEN I'm going to update it.

I'm using MacBook Air and I have the same issue. Does anybody know when they are going to fix it?

It seems that the problem is case-sensitive file system. Steam requires case-INsensitive FS.
The solution to this problem is explained here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1268621

This is difficult to find, because on different versions of Steam / OS X the problem is differently showing itself. I'd suggest Steam to show a note that you need a case insensitive FS on Steam startup.
