Full Screen Steam vs. Big Picture Mode on Mac

Big Picture Mode works great if your hooking your mac up to a TV or external monitor. But to simply view steam in full screen without it being in windowed mode and without hooking up to an external viewing source would be a dream come true. I really like the full screen feel you get with Big Picture Mode but it's not really meant to be used on your native mac laptop screen. Other apps like Safari and Mail can go full screen but steam is still stuck with the older mac code limiting the user to trying to stretch the window to it's maximum size and auto hiding the dock to give the illusion of a more full screen experience although the mac menu bar at the top of the screen will always be present because your still in a window on the desktop. Who else would like to see the code updated for steam to take advantage of the true full screen features that have been available for at least 4 years now?

I really hope that steam app will add this feature very soon. It really looks outdated.
